As Newborn Care Specialists we have found that we are most successful when your singleton is 4 months old from his/her due date. We recommend Twins be 5 months old from due date, and triplets 6 months old from due date. We understand that every baby is unique. We practice gentle sleep coaching which is tailored to your baby and family. We analyze your baby’s environment, temperment, nutrition and behavior before we put together your baby’s plan. Your baby is unique and one plan will not work for every baby. It is recommended that baby weigh at least 12-14 pounds and is eating at least 24-32 oz during daytime hours, example 6am-6pm or 7am-7pm. Check with your pediatrician to ensure that your baby’s health and growth is acceptable to be able to sleep through the night without feedings.
Friends and family may tell you, “My baby was sleeping through the night at 4 days old!” Remember there are many definitions of “sleeping through the night,” In fact "sleeping through the night" is technically 5 hours of undisturbed sleep. A baby still needs to eat during the night at that age and should be woken for feedings to insure adequate weight gain. Every baby is unique. Let us help you find the right sleep plan for you and your family.
